DIRIDRONE: THE LIGHTER-THAN-AIR DRONE
As part of a R&D partnership contract with RTE (Le Réseau de Transport d’Electricité, the French electricity transmission system operator), CNIM Air Space has developed a tailor-made drone airship demonstrator: Diridrone.
Diridrone is targeting surveillance and infrastructure inspection professionals looking for an aerial platform which is innovative, persistent and with low operational costs.

FIRST FLIGHTS FOR THE INSPECTION OF THE HIGH-VOLTAGE LINES MANAGED BY RTE
Since 2017, CNIM Air Space has been working with RTE (Le Réseau de Transport d’Electricité, the French electricity transmission system operator) to develop a drone airship dedicated to the inspection of high-voltage lines: Diridrone.
In October 2020, this lighter-than-air drone has achieved with success its first missions in real conditions of use, above the power lines. This success is a key step of the Diridrone project. The final goal of the Diridrone project for RTE is to facilitate and to automatize the maintenance of the power lines network over long distances.
